CALLUM WHISKY BY ANNANDALE

The award-winning Annandale Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. The collaboration between CALLUM and Annandale Distillery first started with the brilliantly received CALLUM 529, our first limited edition, single malt, unpeated Scotch whisky which sold out in quick fashion. The collaboration continued as we announced a second whisky, CALLUM 003, a single cask, single malt, peated Scotch whisky, bottled at cask strength. The unique whisky signifies a continuation of our partnership devoted to masterful craftsmanship between distillery and design, with this release being the second in a series of six collectable single cask whiskies.

  • The sold-out CALLUM 529 by Annandale is a limited edition, single malt, unpeated Scotch whisky, expertly distilled and bottled at cask strength.

Breaking with tradition, the whisky is enclosed within a bespoke ceramic bottle designed by CALLUM. Ceramic provides new textures and visuals unfamiliar in today’s whisky offering, while being a neutral material that has no impact on the spirit’s distinct and respected flavour. The bottle features handcrafted ripples and is finished in a deep, dark navy-blue glaze. Each of the 230 bottles were personally signed by Ian Callum, making every bottle truly unique.

Crafted by the award-winning Annandale Distillery near Dumfries, the whisky has been matured in a once-used ‘fresh’ bourbon cask made from American oak. This provides a subtle richness, depth, and complexity, as well as ensuring its complete individuality of flavour as single cask, single malt Scotch whisky.

Upon tasting, its sweetness has creamy toffee, salted caramel, and chocolate notes, accompanied by hints of spices, including cinnamon and cardamom, while subtle low tannins provide the perfect touch of astringency to flawlessly balance the flavour.

  • CALLUM 003, a single malt, peated Scotch whisky distilled by Annandale and showcased in a bespoke ceramic bottle and presentation case designed by CALLUM.

Aged to perfection in a fresh bourbon cask since January 2015, the yield is an exquisite, unique, peated single malt Scotch that has been hand-selected by the CALLUM and Annandale teams for its outstanding flavour profile.

In the glass, CALLUM 003 by Annandale has a pale, straw-like golden appearance. On the nose, it offers hints of steeped dried fruits, toffee, black treacle and salted caramel, with this sweetness complemented by medicinal smoky notes.

Its taste profile unfolds with layers of sweetness and nuttiness before expanding to hints of cooked apple and golden syrup. A back note of sweet tobacco leaves a lasting impression on the discerning palate.

The distinguished CALLUM 003 by Annandale whisky is encased in a bespoke, ceramic bottle created by CALLUM, featuring the same striking design as its limited-edition sister whisky, CALLUM 529. The vessel’s form is dramatically sliced in half; part features sweeping organic ripples, which contrast against the silky-smooth, structured texture of the other half.

For this second edition whisky in the collection, the beautiful and luxuriously tactile bottle is finished in an immaculate ‘Pearl White’ glaze, while the striking presentation case is a vibrant and joyful ‘Sunrise’ yellow, accented by CALLUM ‘Vitamin C’ orange. Together, the presentation casing and spirit are memorable for the senses and elevate the whisky drinking experience.

We didn’t want to design a bottle that was distracted by preconceptions, instead we’ve aimed to stir the imagination and captivate the senses.

“The ceramic bottle has a stunning quality finish that stands out in typically glass-filled drinks cabinets. The vibrant, colourful boxes have been curated to sit together beautifully, creating a piece of artwork in the distinguished drinks collection. Upon tasting, both design connoisseurs and whisky aficionados will be delighted at the complex and enjoyable flavour profile of this unique whisky..”
